This course covers basic clerical skills, and will expose students to the modern competitive world of business. It will provide students whose career objectives are to start in the clerical field with the following:

• Proper keyboarding techniques to increase speed and accuracy
• Business math: basic calculations, fractions, decimals, equations.
• Business communication skills: how to create quality business correspondence using proper grammar.
• Expose students to various World Wide Web resources, and to apply proper research techniques; learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Outlook: maintain appointment calendars, activity lists, action plans, and To-Do lists.
• Windows: Learn proper procedures to manage and organize documents, storage options, and for professional purposes; use the functionality and customization options of Windows.
• Use Microsoft Word to produce a variety of documents.
• Use Microsoft PowerPoint to create professional-looking presentations.
• Work with Microsoft Excel to create very fine worksheets.
• How to research for the desired job and perform a winning job interview.
