COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This course will provide the student with the information and skills necessary to create a career in Cost Accounting. The students will understand how to complete the various tasks required for Accountants, such as journalizing entries, making adjustments and closing entries as appropriated, preparing worksheets, create reports and financial statements, cost accounting, and financial statement analysis. This course will provide students whose career objectives are to specialize in the Accounting field with the following:

• Strong understanding of the Accounting science: Analyzing Business Transactions, Analyzing Business Transactions using T accounts, the General journal and General Ledger, Adjustments and the Worksheet, Closing Entries and Post closing Trial Balances, Accounting for Sales and Accounts Receivable, Accounting for Purchases and Accounts Payable, Cash receipts, Cash payments , and Banking Procedures, Payroll Computations, Records and Payments, Payroll taxes, Deposits, and Reports, Accruals, Deferrals, and the Worksheet, Financial Statements and Closing Procedures, Financial Statement Analysis; The statement of Cash Flows, Departmentalized Profit and Cost Centers; Accounting for Manufacturing Activities; Job Order Cost Accounting; Process Cost Accounting; Controlling Manufacturing Costs: Standard Costs; Cost-revenue Analysis for decision making.
• Record Financial data, process payroll, summarize and report financial information, create and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and analyze a statement of cash flow, use basic financial statement analytical procedures, apply financial statements analysis to assess the solvency and profitability of a business.
• Understanding and application of the Cost Accounting Process.
• Learn how today's computer systems are used for accounting and payroll procedures.
• Practical hands-on training in today’s most popular software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and QuickBooks
• How to research for the desired job and perform a winning job interview
