COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This course introduces the student to the most important skills needed for and Administrative Assistant career:

• Proper keyboarding techniques in order to increase speed and accuracy.
• Learn proper procedures to manage and organize documents, storage options, and for professional purposes; use the functionality and customization options of Windows.
• Utilize Microsoft Word to produce documents such as: tables, mail merge, letters, flyers, etc.
• Create desktop publishing documents by using Microsoft Publisher.
• Create professional worksheets with Microsoft Excel
• Expose students to various World Wide Web resources, and to apply proper research techniques; learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Outlook: maintain appointment calendars, activity lists, action plans, and To-Do lists.
• Create databases, reports and forms with Microsoft Access.
• Produce professional looking presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• How to research for the desired job and perform a winning job interview.
